Steve Marrans Black cab
My car is a "Beardmore Paramount Mk7" ex London taxi.
It was manufactured in Hendon -North London in Dec' 1959, and sold by Beardmores from their London showroom on Gt Portland St London W 1.
It was registered in Feb' 1960, although I haven't found out who was the original owner as yet.
The engine is a "Perkins" 4.99 diesel that was sold by Perkins to Commer Vehicles in 1964 to go in one of their 1.5 vans' so this is not the original engine to this car.
Beardmores originally used the Ford Consul engine and running gear, but changed to the diesel in 1959 to offer a better fuel consumption for the taxi drivers of the time.
Approx' 650 Mk7's were made and only 8 remain registered in the U K.
